This Friday, (July 22nd 2016) Showtime has an action packed night of fights lined up. Headlining the event is undefeated Adam Lopez taking on Roman Reynoso. Lopez is hoping to keep his “O” in tact and move up the Super Bantamweight rankings. The undercard also promises action, as the “Young General” Ian Green will be making his ring return.
Green (9-1 7KO) will be taking a step up in class taking on undefeated Massachusetts native Khiary Pitts (13-0 10KO). The 23 year old Pitts sports significant knockout power, however most of his opponents haven’t been tier one so it’s hard to really judge where he is at. Green, having tasted defeat once, enters the ring determined not to let it happen again. “I didn’t prepare properly for the fight” Green said about his majority decision loss against Devaun Lee in January “I didn’t eat and rehydrate correctly after the weigh in, and I learned my lesson the hard way.” With that knowledge, along with slick movement and precision punching, Green hopes to negate Pitts’ offense.
This card has all of the makings of an entertaining Friday night of boxing. The coverage start time is 10PM EST on Showtime. Showtime has a history of producing entertaining, world class fighters, and all of the boxers on the card have the potential to make that jump to the next level.
